A survey was conducted by self-administered questionnaire. The investigation used the job characteristic standard and the MSQ method (Motivation of Status Quo) developed by the JTB Motivation research and development team. The correlation analysis of Pearson by statistical analysis software PASW Ver.18 for Win. was used for statistical analysis.\n As a result, 78 men (6.0%) and 1,227 women (94.0%) were found. The average age was 32.2 ± 8.8 years (SD), and the average clinical years of experience were 9.9 ± 8.2(SD).\n “Diversity” 3.4 ±0.6 points on average in the result of the job characteristics were the highest. “Distinctness of the role” was 2.8 ± 0.5 points on average and 2.8 ± 0.4 points on “Feedback” average was the lowest. As a factor in the motivation of the MSQ, the one that was the highest was “ Private” and 2.9±0.5 points on “Interpersonal relationship” average. The lowest was 2.4±0.6 points on average “Self-expression” and 2.4 ± 0.5 points on “Expected value.” The motivation charge shows the average motivation status. The standard averaged 13.7±3.0 points. “Autonomy” and “ Feedback” showed the strongest correlation between the job characteristics (r=.441, p<.01). A positive correlation (p<.01) was recognized between “Autonomy” “Diversity” and “Feedback” of the job characteristics and motivation charge.\n The job characteristic of assisted-living activities showed a clear relationship to the above-mentioned nurses motivation. It was considered that nurse's motivation became stronger, thanks to the order, progress and independent judgment regarding assisted-living activities, not to mention their awareness of the marked diversity in their work.
